Our story began spring of our freshman year at Hardin-Simmons when we had a class together in the science building. We never spoke that semester, but Thomas sat behind Laney and our chairs would back into each other almost every day. Flash forward to this past spring semester and we had accounting class together. We both noticed each other but were too nervous to say anything, that is until Laney heard that she needed a plus one for her sorority's Greek life formal. She had a friend reach out to Thomas to see if he would be interested in going to the formal with Laney, and luckily, he said yes! They started texting and went on their first date to Chili's and the rest is history!
